Change is coming...

We had recently started filming for our final movie and once we started to edit it we all came to the conclusion that we no longer liked our idea and there was a lot of problems that we hadn't considered. We needed to re-think our idea because it started to become more and more complicated and we would never fit it into our time limit, so we had a total change. We got together and spoke about different ideas we had, we knew it needed to be simple and effective and not get too carried away with it like we did last time, we still wanted to do a thriller genre but just change our plot. We have a couple of ideas which we love and now we just need to decide which one is best.

Locations...

Now that we have our final film plan and have already started filming we have realised that there are lots of different locations we will need to go and film at, one of then being Tara's house which was where we did our first day of filming . We have planned to film at the Millennium Bridge, which being quite far and busy we will need to make sure that we get the filming done perfectly so that we won't need to come back. We decided on using various different locations so that we can include lots of different shot types and have a wide range right from the start of the film. We chose to use the Millennium Bridge after seeing it on an episode of Made In Chelsea (shown in the picture below) and felt that this was exactly what we wanted in our film.

Final Idea...

For our final idea we have decided that at the beginning you will see the back of a hooded man making a ransom letter. Then it will switch to the shot of a professional, glamourous woman returning home from work wearing sophisticated clothing. She will then find the letter but before opening it she will carry with her everyday routine e.g getting wine out of the fridge. When she finally opens the letter she drops the wine and runs and you will see the letter fall slowly and piece of the ransom left behind. You will then see her running across millennium bridge and lady smith football grounds because we think these settings will suit the story line best. While she is running, we thought it would be effective to have flashbacks of her troubled past and towards the end of the run she will have returned to her old, drug-abusing self.
If this was to turn into a feature length film it would tell the story of what happened to the girl in order for her to be in this situation.

Fridge Vlog...

We had our first day of filming on Friday 22nd which was done at Tara's house, we shot the footage of her walking into the house and opening the fridge scene all of which took a little longer than planned. We decided to do a group vlog to update what we have been doing and since our camera was in the fridge we made it a little different, heres our fridge vlog.

Research and Questionnaire task...

We have recently been asked to make a questionnaire and find out what the public's view is on movies, this is background research which will help us improve our videos and include key aspects which will appeal to our target group. I found the research very helpful because I found out that although some people where of the same age they had very different opinions on what makes a good film in their eyes. I recorded my results so that I have something to refer to when planning our movie and here it is...

First Vlog...

This is my first Vlog, I have never made a vlog before so I was a little nervous but here it is...

Music Idea...

Whilst in our media lesson Tara suddenly came up with a brilliant idea of how to get music into our video. We realised that for our movie it would not look right to have the character listening to music through their earphones and we was struggling to find a way to incorporate the music into the movie so once we heard Tara's idea we all loved it.

Practice Filming...

We have been practicing with our camera so that we get used to how they work. In our video new have put together a couple of different camera shots and we experimented with different things on iMovie. We now have a couple of ideas of the different shots we will be using with our movie and this practice has really helped us a lot. We did realise that we have still got our original sound as well the music on our clip but we will learn from this and make sure we don't make the same mistake for our final movie.

Unexpected pitch...

Ciara suddenly had a last minute idea which we all loved and here it is...

Editing

'Tara editing' In todays lesson we have been editing our practice filming and taking a few more different angle shots to get used to using the camera. We have tried to include as many shots as we can and it was great practice for when we are filming our movie, it has also helped a lot to do some more editing so that we can find out how to do different techniques and get used to using imovie.

This shows our first ideas of our movie and how we want to carry them out, we might change a few details but we are happy with our storyline.

Prelim outtakes...

This was my favourite part to edit because we had so many funny clips to put in...

Prelim film...

This is our Prelim and we are really pleased with the way it has turned out...

Editing...

We've done our first piece of editing and as stressful as it was at some points it was so enjoyable. We had to search how to do certain things which wasn't always easy but we go there in the end. It felt really strange not saving our work but it is something I will have to get used to. I am really pleased with how our Prelim turned out considering it was our first time at editing for all of us and I am looking forward to doing more editing.

Preliminary task research...

In our next lesson of media we will be filming our Preliminary task, below is what the examboard have sent as the brief:

We was asked to do some research about the 180-degree rule, match on action and the shot/reverse shot, I found the following powerpoint which gave really useful information about all of them:

Storyboard...

On Tuesday we was asked to create a storyboard for the Luther clip. Although my drawing skills were not the best I really enjoyed this activity as it showed a clear layout of the plan for the Luther clip.

Luther video clip...

Last lesson in media we watched a 2 minuite clip from the TV drama Luther. The clip was the opening of Luther and it kept us all hooked through out, with the added unexpected moment at the end. The different camera angles gradually built up the suspense and kept us the viewers watching to find out what was about to happen. Below is a screen shot of the clip:

Favourite female actor

Amanda Seyfried-

My favourite female actor would have to be Amanda Seyfried. Out of the many films she has been in, Dear John, Mamma Mia, Mean girls, to name a few, her talented skills as a actor allow her to bring every role she plays to life. Although she is now considered a very famous actor her mild roles in films such as Mean Girls did not show her full ability as an actor, now she is staring in the award winning Les Miserables which reflects her true skills. This is why Amanda Seyfried is my favourite female actor.

Favourite Male Actor

Colin Firth-

My Favourite male actor would have to be Colin Firth. Most famous for his roles as King George VI in The King’s Speech and Mark Darcy in Bridget Jones diary, Colin has played many complex roles which have really stretched him as a actor to show his full ability. Although he has played many serious roles he has also appeared in many comedies such as Mamma Mia, Love Actually and St Trinians. My favourite role of his was playing Mark Darcy in Bridget Jones' Diary, his ability to take on the role of the upper class Mark Darcy made the character so famous today. To go form singing and dancing in Mamma Mia to his award winning role in The Kings Speech Colin Firth has accepted any role put in front of him and form my point of view succeeded every time. This is why Colin Firth is my favourite actor.

Favourite film...

Grown Ups-

It is very difficult for me to pick a favourite film as there are so many that I love, but after a lot of thought and consideration my favourite film would have to be 'Grown Ups'. This feel good comedy always keeps me laughing throughout no matter how many times I watch it.The film shows the main character "Lenny", who is a very successful Hollywood director, try to show his two children that they don't need to have all the materialistic things in their lives to have fun and enjoy themselves as they have been brought to have anything they want. As you get to know each of the families and their personalities you grow to love them even more, and have so much fun watching what they get up to. This is why grown ups is my favourite film.
